Hi. I’m Marianne Cordillo with Cupa Cabana. Welcome back to Cupa Cabana TV. Today we’re going to talk about some trends that we’ve identified in the coffee culture in 2015. The first trend I’ve noticed is younger people drinking more espresso, and I think this comes from a variety of reasons. One could be that they’re a little more aware of the nuances and the flavors of espresso. It could be that it’s more available to younger people than it was in previous decades, and I think another factor is more and more people, for whatever reason, are trying to control their dairy intake.
The second trend we’re seeing is also dairy related. We’re seeing more and more people requesting almond and soy milk in addition to skim milk which was already very prevalent. My guess is that this is because people are becoming more health conscious. The third trend we’re seeing is consumers are aligning themselves more with the coffee shop that they frequent the most. Why is this? It could be because of the type of beverage that they drink or they like, the atmosphere of the coffee shop or cafe, the product or quality of what they’re drinking and even the staff. All of those factors can play into it. There’s more of an identity with their cafe. Thanks for watching Cupa Cabana TV. See you next time.
