Welcome to Cupa Cabana TV. Today we’re comparing five brands of coffee that you can find in most supermarkets.
Today we’re comparing some of the coffee brands we found at our local supermarket. I’d like to preface this video with a note that distribution for most coffee brands tends to vary. We picked brands that are widely available in the New Jersey and New York Metro Market where Cupa Cabana is located.
An 11-ounce bag of Eight O’Clock costs about $5.99, coming in at the lowest price point featured in this segment. Eight O’Clock is a great blend at a fair and affordable cost. It lacks the unpleasant bitterness or acidic taste that is common among the other national bargain brands. In my opinion, if you enjoy your coffee light and sweet, this is the one best picked for you.
New England is a great regional coffee brand commonly found across the Northeast. This pick was just $7.49 for an 11-ounce bag. They offer dozens of flavors and varieties, but my preference is the simple Colombian Supremo, good coffee at a good price. What more could you ask for?
Lavazza Coffee began over 120 years ago in Turin, Italy, at the small grocery store. Recently, Lavazza has become more and more widely distributed throughout the U.S. At $8.99 for a 12-ounce package, it’s one of our pricier picks. However, the quality definitely justifies the price. Lavazza is a great everyday coffee and much more affordable than most gourmet options.
Peet’s began as a small coffee shop in Berkeley, California. They offered freshly dark-roasted, small batches of high quality beans upon opening in 1966. Today they still cherish those ideals and have been winning fans rapidly. Peet’s is our most expensive option at a reasonable $9.99 for a 12-ounce bag, but it’s definitely worth noting that at the time that we purchased these brands, it was $3.00 off a bag, a serious steal at $6.99. A delicious, aromatic smell will greet you upon opening the bag, a testament to the superior craftsmanship put into this product. Peet’s is, by far, the winner out of this group despite the normally higher price point. Every sip leaves you waiting for more.
Thanks for watching, and think of us the next time you enjoy a cup of your favorite beverage. Have a great day.
