Ah, delicious, creamy, ice cream. It is the stuff that our childhood, adulthood, and everything in the middle is made of. Not that we need an excuse, but with July 17th here it is the day that all ice cream lovers can rejoice: National Ice Cream Day!
Ice Cream – The Ultimate Summer Treat
Here at Cupa Cabana, there is a special place in our hearts for coffee ice cream (are you really surprised?) We’ve gone ahead, done our research, and plan on giving you a sneak peek at some of the best recipes for coffee ice cream so you can satisfy those cravings long after the official day has passed.
National Ice Cream Day began in 1984 when former President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. We’re glad it has stuck around!
The first recipe we want to feature is from Simply Recipes. It is simple, easy to follow, and yields a delicious final product. If you want to add decaf coffee beans to the recipe, it will cut down on caffeine levels.
Want something a little more decadent? Mocha is the marriage of coffee and chocolate – and when incorporated into ice cream – is the perfect dessert. We found this mocha inspired recipe, which you can add other tasty treats (walnuts, graham crackers, etc.) from King Arthur Flour.
We have a tender spot in our hearts for those of our followers who are dairy intolerant. The God news? We found a recipe from Tasty Eats at Home that you could use, and it’s dairy-free! Click HERE for the recipe!
Do you have a favorite coffee inspired recipe? Share with us and let us know your favorite blend! Now if you’ll excuse us, it is time to partake in National Ice Cream day while we are still able!
